Laser Cutter Intro

Laser Cutter Intro

Get started with the Joan Kleine Creative Studio's laser cutter and engraver machine! This machine is equipped to cut wood and acrylic and capable of engraving stone, glass, concrete, and some forms of coated metals.

Topics covered include:

  • Safety and operation procedure
  • Material selection and properties
  • Resources for online files for laser cutting and engraving
  • Designing your own graphics with Inkscape
  • Working with photos and artwork
  • Using LightBurn software to control the laser

Caution

The laser cutter is a Class 4 laser device. Operating the machine requires certain safety precautions taken to prevent injury. These safety precautions must be followed when working with the machine.

This program is intended for ages 14 and up. Children 13 and younger are welcome but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
