Program Description
Sound & Recording Studio Intro
Get started with the Joan Kleine Creative Studio's Sound & Recording facility! This introductory class will teach you the basics of recording audio with Reaper and composing music with Ableton Live.
Topics covered include:
Recording
- Microphone choice and setup
- Using our mixer
- Recording audio from the recording booth to Reaper
- Working with multiples takes of the same performance
Composition
- Using the MIDI keyboard controller with Ableton Live
- Choosing an instrument in Ableton
- Recording a clip and sequencing MIDI by hand
- Using MIDI and Audio effects
This program is intended for ages 14 and up. Children 13 and younger are welcome but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
