This program focuses on literacy through reading, music, movement, and play. It may get messy—please dress appropriately! Meant for ages 0-5. 

Paul Strickland brings storytelling to the library. Paul loves sharing Kentucky folk tales, tall tales, and even a few fairy tales, and there might be an opportunity for audience participation!

Music Time is an interactive program designed for children ages birth to 6 and their caregivers. Each week, we have a fun-filled session of singing, dancing, and exploring sounds with instruments like shakers, rhythm sticks, and scarves.

Sing, dance, and play with shaky eggs, rhythm sticks, and scarves. Through a playlist of familiar pre-recorded songs, children enjoy the benefits of repetition, which supports their development and love of music. Meant for ages 0-5.

In this high-voltage electricity program, Captain Current (Kentucky Science Center’s resident superhero), teaches participants all about how electricity is generated and recruits them to become Energy Saving Cadets.

Dr. Roy Scudder-Davis will bring a selection of live snakes to discuss and let participants hold. Register each person individually. Do not register as a group. 

Peaceful Play is designed with shy or neurodivergent children in mind, though all are welcome.

This program is designed for preschool-aged children (ages 3-5). Once your child has outgrown Toddler Time, they can move up to Story Time!

Sometimes, fidget toys can double as a form of art! We will be using dowels, paper, scissors, glue, and more to create twirligigs, an interactive fidget toy, that can twist and move. This week, we are focusing on engineering.
