This is a program for children ages 0-5. We love learning different types of literacy through reading, music, movement, and play. This program lasts 45 minutes to an hour and we could get messy so please dress appropriately!
LEGO Club is a program for kids of all ages. We supply the LEGOs, you bring the creativity. Kids may make whatever time and imagination allows. Each week we display the LEGO creations inside one of our display cases.
Dive into the art of watercolor painting this October at the library with Pat Banks, a seasoned watercolor artist. Each week, Pat will cover a range of watercolor techniques, from foundational skills to more advanced methods.
The Joan Kleine Creative Studio is open for everyone! Whether you're working with our equipment, bringing in your own projects, or just want to see what's happening at the studio, drop on by for our open hours!
The Creative Studio features:
Get creative and craft with your community in the Creative Studio Workshop series!
The Creative Studio Workshop is a self-guided project learning experience, where you can work at your own pace to learn something new. We'll provide the supplies and the instructions, and every Thursday we'll have staff on hand to give you guided assistance. From sewing to 3D design, and from programming to painting, we'll have a project for everyone!
Each project runs from 4 to 7 weeks. Storage space will be provided by the library where necessary.
Learn to make a song at the Joan Klein Creative Studio! Whether you have musical experience or not, we'll guide you through the process of writing your own song with Ableton Live!
Drop off your donated materials for the FREE MARKET during this designated time. Since the Library can not store Free Market materials, this is the only time to bring your items in to donate to the market.

MCPL Outreach is proud to participate in Richmond's annual Halloween Hoedown, sponsored by Richmond Parks and Recreation! Bring the whole family for some spooky fun at Lake Reba Softball Fields in Richmond!
Join us for this technology based craft!!! We will be using the libraries laser cutter and engraver to make some cool spooky coasters.
